Those who've deprived for 15 years, boycott them just for one day: Rizvi

Calling upon the countrymen to boycott Sunday's general elections, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Saturday said the government is playing with fire to make political gains by blaming the opposition.
"You are the citizens of Bangladesh. And, those who have deprived you of your rights over the last 15 years, please boycott them for, at least, one day on January 7," he said while addressing a virtual press conference on Saturday evening.
Rizvi called upon the voters to refrain from going to the polling stations on Sunday. Instead, he urged them to give time to their respective families. "You, your family, relatives, friends, well-wishers and neighbours --- please refrain from going to the polling stations and encourage others to do so."
At the press conference, Rizvi said Awami League has started playing a dangerous game to cling to power once again illegally through a "dummy election drama." Bangladesh is heading towards a dangerous situation ignoring the call of international community, especially the democratic world."
Stating that the arson on the Benapole Express Train was an ill-motivated, the BNP leader once again demanded an international investigation into the incident under the supervision of the United Nations.
