Teacher arrested with foreign firearms by RAB in Munshiganj

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested a teacher named Md. Moin Uddin Mohon (39) in an operation conducted in Munshiganj Sadar.
He was apprehended with one foreign pistol and two magazines. Mohon is employed as a sports teacher at Mohakali Union High School in the Sadar upazila on Saturday afternoon.
He was sent to court after a case was filed against him under the Arms Act at Munshiganj Sadar Police Station.
Earlier, on Friday at around 7 PM, RAB conducted the operation in the Uttar Makhati area of the Sadar upazila and arrested him. He is the son of Md. Mobarak Ali from Purbo Makhati area. The information was confirmed by Shamim Hasan Sardar, Assistant Director of the RAB-10 Media Cell.
A RAB team launched a raid in the Uttar Makhati area of Munshiganj Sadar and successfully arrested a person with a foreign pistol and magazines. He was later handed over to the concerned police station.
Sub-Inspector of Munshiganj Sadar Police Station, Sajib Dey, said at around 3 om on Saturday that RAB-10 handed over a person to the station the previous night. When asked whether the individual was a teacher, he replied, “We’ve heard so.” He added that the process of sending the arrestee to court was underway.
