In Patuakhali, there is evidence that one Union BNP and the other Ward BNP occupying important posts in Union Swechchhasebak League. Such an incident happened in Chhota Bighai Union of Sadar Upazila of Patuakhali.

Analysis of the list of the committee reveals that Sultan Mahmud is the general secretary of the current executive committee of Chhota Bighai Union Branch of Patuakhali Sadar Upazila. He is also the vice-president of the Union Swechchhasebak League. Monir Gharami who is currently the general secretary of ward 9 BNP committee in the same committee of Swachhasebak League.

Chota Bighai Volunteer League Committee approved on 24th May 2017 has names of Sultan Mahmud as Vice-President and Monir Gharami as Co-Organizer. They were active from the union level in every program announced from the center of the Volunteer League. They actively participated in the political programs of Awami League in upazilas and districts. Many people are unhappy because the names of Sultan Mahmud and Monir Gharami are in the committee of BNP. Confusion has started among the Union BNP as to how their names came to the BNP committee despite the same person being in the Volunteer League committee.

Sultan Mahmud said, I did student politics during my student life. Anyone can keep me in the committee of Awami League. I never did Awami League.

Monir Gharami said, I was in the committee of Thana BNP since a long time ago, but I don't have the committee paper. There are current committee papers. I have never done Awami League politics.

Convener of Patuakhali Sadar Upazila BNP Kazi Mahbub Alam said, "I received a complaint against Sultan Mahmud and Monir Gharami during the 2022 Chhota Bighai Union BNP committee, but I checked and found that they resigned from Awami League. So I gave them the post of BNP.
