
Street Memory Stamp being constructed for 3 martyrs of July Uprising in Munshiganj

In memory of the three martyrs of the July mass uprising in Munshiganj district, a Street Memory Stamp is being constructed on the road divider in the Uttar Islampur area of the town.
On Saturday at 10 AM, the construction of the Street Memory Stamp in remembrance of martyrs Sajal Molla, Riazul Farazi, and Nur Mohammad (aka Dipjal) was inaugurated by Munshiganj Deputy Commissioner Fatema Tul Jannat and Superintendent of Police Muhammad Shamsul Alam Sarkar, along with the family members of the martyrs.
Rezwanur Rahman, Senior Assistant Engineer of LGED Munshiganj, stated that each Street Memory Stamp will include the martyr's name, date of birth and death, and a description of their martyrdom according to the official government gazette. The structure will be 8 feet tall, and the core part, made of a stone-concrete mix, will be sent from Dhaka. Each stamp, including solar lighting installation, will cost approximately BDT 1.5 lakh. The project is funded by the District Council and will be completed under the direct supervision of LGED within 7–10 days.
Present at the event were Saiful Islam, brother of martyr Sajal Molla; Ria Moni, daughter of martyr Riazul Farazi; and Shefali Begum, grandmother of martyr Nur Mohammad (Dipjal).
The Deputy Commissioner Fatema Tuzzahura Jannat informed that month-long official programs have been undertaken in memory of the July uprising and the martyrs.
Later, at 11 AM, under the "One Martyr, One Tree" program commemorating the brave martyrs of Munshiganj, 14 Golden Shower Trees (Cassia fistula) were planted in the premises of the Sadar Upazila Complex, with participation from the families of the martyrs.
The event was graced by Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Fatema Tul Jannat as the chief guest. Also present were Superintendent of Police Muhammad Shamsul Alam Sarkar, Additional District Magistrate Md. Rezaul Karim, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Muhammad Mussabberul Islam, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Sharif Ullah, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mahbubur Rahman, along with district administration officials, heads of various government departments, representatives of civil society, students, teachers, and frontliners of the July-August mass uprising.
