Sk Sohrab Hossain, Jashore

State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj, MP, has called for making sports a mandatory subject in primary textbooks in order to implement the commitments of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

He also urged teachers to remain vigilant so that no public or private institution can exert influence over schools to serve their own interests.

The State Minister made these remarks while addressing a day-long training workshop titled "Classroom Operations, Monitoring, Accountability, and Changed Expectations of Local Administration in Bangladesh's Primary Education."

The workshop was organized by the Divisional Primary Education Office, Khulna Division, and held on Wednesday noon at the Jashore PTI School Auditorium. State Minister Bobby Hajjaj attended and addressed the event as the chief guest.

The program featured Ministry of Primary and Mass Education Joint Secretary (Dev) Md. Matiyar Rahman, Jashore Superintendent of Police Syed Rafiqul Islam, and Directorate of Primary Education Director (Stipend) Md. Masud Hossain as special guests. Divisional Deputy Director of Primary Education for Khulna Division Dr. Md. Shafiqul Islam delivered the welcome speech, while Jashore District Commissioner Mohammad Asheq Hasan presided over the session.

Following the workshop, the State Minister also addressed a press conference in the presence of journalists.
