As part of the government-declared three-day state mourning following the passing of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, a special Jummah prayer and supplication (Doa ) were held in Bogura. Party activists and a large number of general worshippers participated in the event.
The prayer took place on Friday after the Jummah congregation at Baitur Rahman Central Mosque in Bogura town. The program was conducted nationwide under the guidance of the Ministry of Religious Affairs through the Islamic Foundation.The prayer was led by the mosque’s khatib, Mufti Maulana Monowar Hossain.
Additionally, the Bogura District Chhatra Dal organized a special prayer both to seek mercy for the departed soul of Begum Khaleda Zia and to mark the organization’s anniversary. Tasbih (holy offerings) were distributed among worshippers after the prayer.
Among those present at the prayer at Baitur Rahman Central Mosque were BNP Chairperson’s Advisors and former Bogura Mayor Adv A.K.M. Mahbubur Rahman, senior co-chairperson of the Krishok Dal Central Committee and former MP Md. Helaluzzaman Talukdar Lalu.
Other notable attendees included Bogura District BNP President Rezaul Karim Badsha, VP Saiful Islam of the BNP National Executive Committee, Kazi Rafique, Ali Azgar Talukdar Hena, and Zainal Abedin Chan.
Besides, District BNP Vice President M.R. Islam Swadhin, Organizational Secretary Shahid un Nabi Salam, K.M. Khairul Bashar and Helal, former convenor of District Jubo Dal Khademul Islam Khadem, District Jubo Dal President Jahangir Alam, General Secretary Abu Hasan, District Swechasebak Dal President Sarkar Mukul, City Jubo Dal President Ahsan Habib Momi, Organizational Secretary Sourav Hasan, District Chhatra Dal President Habibur Rashid Sandhan, General Secretary M.R. Hasan Palash, and other leaders from district and affiliate organizations were present.
The prayers concluded with supplications for the mercy of Begum Khaleda Zia’s soul and for the peace and stability of the country.
