A special community meeting to raise awareness about the development of children, adolescents and women was held in Tungipara, Gopalganj. The meeting was organized by the District Information Office, Gopalganj, at the hall of Gopalpur Panchapalli High School in the upazila on Thursday afternoon.

Director General (Current Responsibilities) of the Department of Mass Communication, Md. Abdul Jalil, addressed the meeting organized under the 'Awareness Promotion Activities for the Development of Children, Adolescents and Women' project under the Department of Mass Communication of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting via video conference as the chief guest.
He said, "The role of mothers is very important in building a family, society and the state. Mothers must play a more responsible role in raising their children as good citizens through religious education, family values and moral practices. Ensuring the rights and safety of women and children is also the responsibility of everyone in society, he said.

The meeting was chaired and the keynote address was presented by Md. Benazir Ahmed, Acting District Information Officer of District Information Office, Gopalganj. She discussed in detail about safe motherhood, the right of a child to breastfeed, autism and mental health awareness, prevention of child drowning, prevention of child marriage and eve-teasing, social safety net programs and dengue prevention.

During this time, he informed the participants about the necessity and rules of using the National Emergency Service 999, Health Portal 16263, and the Anti-Corruption Commission's hotline 106.

District Information Office Announcer Md. Delwar Hossain moderated the program. The principal of Gopalpur Panchapalli High School, other teachers and local dignitaries were present at the program.

About 100 women, teenagers, and children attended the meeting. After the discussion, participants said they benefited from learning new information about family values, women's and children's rights, and emergency service hotlines.
