Hosne Ara Begum (70), mother of the chairman of Dhanseeri Union Parishad under Kabirhat Upazila in Noakhali, who was critically injured in an attack by unidentified assailants and later died while undergoing treatment, has been laid to rest.
Her funeral prayer was held late Sunday night ( at 10:30 PM, attended by thousands of mourners. She was buried in the family graveyard following the funeral.
Earlier that morning at 7:00 AM, she passed away while receiving treatment at Dhaka’s Popular Hospital. She leaves behind her elderly husband, three sons, two daughters, and countless admirers.
It is mentioned , her son Mohammad Kamal Khan (popularly known as Kamal Company), the chairman of Dhanseeri Union Parishad, could not attend his mother’s final rites.
The tragic incident occurred on the evening of 1 July at around 6:30 PM in the family’s ancestral home located near Matin’s shop in Jogdananda village, Ward-6 of Dhanseeri Union.
Kobirhat Police Station OC Shaheen Mia said, a case has been filed by the victim’s son, Main Uddin, against unnamed individuals. He added that police are actively investigating the matter and, for the sake of the investigation, cannot reveal more details at this time.
