Police have filed cases under the Narcotics Control Act against seven individuals arrested in separate anti-drug operations in Ashulia, recovering yaba tablets and cannabis from their possession.

The drives were conducted under the overall supervision and directives of Dhaka District Superintendent of Police Shamima Parvin, according to a press release issued by Ashulia Police Station.

Police said that on Thursday night, a special operation was carried out on Salam Model School Road in the Jamgora area of Ashulia. During the raid, Md. Naim Hossain, 27, and Md. Shahid, 20, were arrested from an unpaved road in front of the scrap shop owned by Delwar Hossain Himel. A total of 30 yaba tablets were recovered from them.

In another operation, police arrested Md. Anisur Rahman, 33, from a room on the southern side of a single-storey building owned by Jabeda Begum in the West Dendabor area. During the raid, 100 grams of cannabis were seized from his possession.

Meanwhile, acting on information, police conducted a raid in front of Abir Pharmacy at Amtala Bazar in the Bhadail area and arrested three individuals Md. Nurul Islam, 48, Md. Jamal, 35, and Md. Lutfor Rahman, 45. Police recovered a total of 10 yaba tablets from them.

In a separate operation conducted late Friday night at Dewan Market intersection in the Diakhali area of Ashulia, police arrested Md. Bishal Hossain, 35. During the raid, officers recovered 62 yaba tablets from his possession.

Police said that separate cases under the Narcotics Control Act have been filed against all the arrested individuals at Ashulia Police Station.

OC of Ashulia Police Station, Tarikul Islam, said that regular special drives are being conducted to build a drug-free society, curb terrorism, and control criminal activities.
