Second Int'l conference 'MIET' to be held at NSTU

The second international conference titled "Machine Intelligence and Emerging Technologies" is set to commence at Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) on November 8 (Friday).
This conference, hosted for the second time by NSTU, will feature 216 researchers from home and abroad presenting 46 research papers.
The conference will run for two days, from November 8 (Friday) to November 9 (Saturday). It is jointly organized by NSTU's Institute of Information Technology (IIT) and five departments: Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science and Telecommunication Engineering (CSTE), Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), Information and Communication Engineering (ICE), and Statistics.
Renowned researchers from various prestigious universities and institutions worldwide, along with those from Bangladesh, will present their research papers at the conference.
The organizing committee, including 22 session chairs and volunteers, will oversee the technical and keynote sessions. Internationally acclaimed professors and researchers such as Professor Nikola Kasabov, Professor Mohammad-Slim Alouini, Professor Dr. Md. Abdur Razzak, Professor Sozo Inoue, and Professor Dr. Mohammad Ali Moni will serve as keynote speakers.
Additionally, the opening session will feature the university's Vice-Chancellor, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, and the conference's General Chair and Co-Chair. The closing session's chief guest will be Professor Dr. Mohammad Abu Yusuf, Vice-Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University.
The conference will include various events such as technical sessions, keynote sessions, and a graduate forum. Key technical tracks for the conference include AI and Soft Computing, Smart Sensing and Security, and Imaging and Computer Vision.
According to Conference Secretary Md. Shahriar Setu, 46 papers out of 164 submissions were finally selected for presentation, with an acceptance rate of 28%. All papers presented at the second international conference will be published in Springer’s "Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems," indexed by Scopus. The 2024 MIET conference features 41% international papers with researchers from 14 countries participating.
Organizing Chair Md. Iftekharul Alam Ifat expressed gratitude to the entire organizing committee and the university administration for their support. He also acknowledged the financial assistance from Agrani Bank, One Bank, Al-Arafah Islami Bank, and NSTU, which has allowed smooth conference management.
The selected papers will be published in Springer’s Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems, indexed by Scopus and DBLP, ensuring the conference’s recognition and credibility among the international research community.
