Dhaka University Department of Physics and Bose Center for Advanced Study and Research in Natural Sciences will jointly organize the opening ceremony of a 4-day international conference titled 'Centennial Celebration of Bose-Einstein Statistics: A Legacy of Dhaka' on November 07, 2024, at Mintu Road.

Chief Advisor. Muhammad Yunus is expected to attend the event as the chief guest. This conference is being organized to mark the 100th anniversary of the Bose-Einstein theory and to highlight Satyen Bose's unique contribution at an international level.

A press briefing was organized in Professor Abdul Matin Chowdhury's virtual classroom on Tuesday 05 November 2024 regarding this international conference. Conference Organizing Committee Secretary Professor Dr. Kamrul Hasan gave a briefing to the journalists. At this time, the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) engaged in the routine duties of the Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University. Saima Haque Vidisha, Dean of Science Faculty. Abdus Salam and the convener of the conference organizing committee professor. Members of the organizing committee including Supriya Saha were present. In the press briefing, it was informed that the 100th anniversary of the Bose-Einstein theory is going to be celebrated in July this year. It is through this theory that quantum statistics is born. The father of quantum statistics is Professor Satyen Bose, Department of Physics, University of Dhaka.

The name of Dhaka University is associated with the birth of quantum statistics. Through this conference, the new generation will know the glorious history of Dhaka University and the students will be inspired in new discoveries and innovations.

After the opening session of the conference, a scientific session will be held at Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhavan of Dhaka University on November 8-10. Scientific session will be held from 9 am to 5 pm daily.

Scientists from USA, Germany, Brazil, Japan, Hong Kong, India, Pakistan and Nepal will participate in the conference.
