A Seasonal Fruit Festival organized by the Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir, Jagannath University (JnU) unit, has officially begun. The event is a unique initiative aimed at welcoming newly admitted students.
The festival was inaugurated on Thursday at 9:00 AM at the university's Shaheed Minar premises by JnU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Md. Rezaul Karim.
Present at the event were Acting Registrar Prof Dr. Md. Sheikh Gias Uddin, Teachers’ Association Joint General Secretary Professor Dr. Md. Bilal Hossain, as well as teachers and students from various departments.
Speaking on the occasion, JnU Shibir President Asadul Islam said,“This event has been arranged to welcome the freshers. Seasonal fruits such as mango, jackfruit, blackberry, and pineapple have been provided. We’ve also made separate arrangements for our female students. We warmly invite all teachers, students, officers, and staff to join us in this celebration.”
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Rezaul Karim appreciated the initiative, saying,“I commend this student-friendly effort by Shibir. I hope other student organizations will also be inspired to undertake such welfare-oriented activities for students.”
