As part of the preparations for the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) and Hall Parliament Elections-2025, the Returning Officers held a meeting with the university's student organizations.
The meeting was held in two phases on Thursday at the Professor Abdul Matin Virtual Classroom of Dhaka University with representatives from a total of 18 organizations.
The meeting was presided over by Chief Returning Officer and Prof of Botany Department Dr. Mohammad Jasim Uddin. Present at the meeting were Returning Officer Prof Dr. ASM Mohiuddin (Soil, Water and Environment Department), Prof Dr. Golam Rabbani (Social Welfare and Research Institute), Prof Dr. Kazi Mostaq Ghausul Haque (Information Science and Library Management Department), Prof Dr. Kazi Maruful Islam (Development Studies Department), Prof Dr. Nasrin Sultana (Health Economics Institute), Prof Dr. Md. Shahidul Islam (Shahidul Zahid) (Banking and Insurance Department), Prof Dr. Tariq Manzoor (Bangla Department) and Associate Professor Sharmin Kabir (Education and Research Institute).
The leaders of the student organizations participated in the meeting and expressed their opinions on various issues related to election preparations, administrative cooperation, security arrangements and the voting process. They gave suggestions on the things to be done to ensure a fair and peaceful environment for the elections. The returning officers assured to consider their recommendations seriously and take necessary steps.
Dhaka University authorities are considering the DUCSU and Hall Parliament elections with utmost importance as part of democratic practice and are committed to ensuring a free, fair and participatory election through regular dialogue with stakeholders.
