According to related sources, in 1983, Madan thana was upgraded to upazila. Activities of Madan Upazila are going on with 8 unions. On July 11, 2001, Madan Thana Sadar was upgraded to a municipality. The condition of Madan Upazila Parishad area was very deplorable due to lack of long-term expansion plan and backwardness in terms of infrastructure.

Each office operated from a different dilapidated building. Some kind of government service delivery program was going on.A new administrative building with 5 floors was constructed in 2022 due to public demand. It changes to some extent. But in front of the new building there are old dilapidated houses, public hall ground, several holes in front of the quarter and three feet below the road, when there is a little rain, the accumulation of muddy water creates various problems.

To enhance the beauty and aesthetics of the Parishad square, taking various projects in the financial year 2023-24, upazila parishad square, in front of the quarters, in front of the primary education office and election office and in front of the public hall ground, 8 lakh 20 thousand taka has been allocated.

In the meantime, the work of filling soil and painting the trees has been completed and the construction of the internal road is going on. It is connected with the beautiful Shaheed Minar. The long dilapidated Mukta Mancha has received a touch of reformation.

In view of this, soil filling, construction of new roads and tree-to-tree painting have been implemented.

Madan Upazila Engineer Golam Kibria Piyal said that if various projects were unanimously accepted in the coordination meeting to enhance the beauty of the Parishad square, the trees would be planted through contractors, the re-genius kindergarten school run by the upazila administration would be completed and the painting work would be completed and the road construction work of the Parishad square would be completed.
