Govt takes comprehensive steps for flood rehab: Dulu

Minister for Disaster Management and Relief, Asadul Habib Dulu, MP, said, the government has adopted comprehensive measures to rehabilitate flood-affected communities, underscoring its sincere commitment to bringing stability and relief back to the disrupted regions.
The Minister announced that corrugated iron (CI) sheets will be allocated alongside home construction grants to assist the victims. Furthermore, projects under Test Relief (TR) and Food for Work (Kabikha) programs will be sanctioned immediately to expedite the repair and restoration of damaged rural infrastructure
He made these remarks as the chief guest at a view-exchange meeting regarding ongoing relief efforts and post-flood rehabilitation strategies, held at the Bandarban Deputy Commissioner's office on Wednesday.
The meeting was presided over by Bandarban Deputy Commissioner Md. Saniul Ferdous. Local Member of Parliament Saching Prue Jerry, Member of Parliament from the reserved women's seat Madhabi Marma, and Superintendent of Police Wahabul Islam Khandaker, alongside top district-level administrative officials, were also present and addressed the gathering.
The Minister commended the administrative staff for their dedication during the crisis and urged all public servants to maintain their rigorous commitment throughout the recovery phase.
Earlier in the afternoon, the Minister visited the flood-ravaged areas of Bharakhali in the Kuhalong union under Bandarban Sadar upazila to personally inspect the damage and distributed essential relief materials among the affected families.
