Satkhita DC Kausar Aziz says : Greed is root cause of corruption

Satkhira Deputy Commissioner Miz Kausar Aziz stated on Tuesday that human greed remains the driving force behind corruption, urging the development of moral values to eradicate the issue.
"Corruption has persisted since the dawn of civilization. Its primary driver is the spread of greed. Once strong morality takes root, our mindset will evolve, enabling us to stay away from corrupt practices," she said while addressing as the chief guest at the inauguration of the Satkhira District Level Debate, Essay, and Painting Competition-2026.
The event, held at the Satkhira Sadar Upazila Parishad auditorium, was organized by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Integrated District Office, Khulna, and managed jointly by the Satkhira District Administration and the District Corruption Prevention Committee.
Chaired by District Corruption Prevention Committee President Alhaj Dr. Abul Kalam Babla, the program aims to raise public awareness and foster honesty among students across 32 educational institutions in the district.
Satkhira Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Arnab Dutta, District Women’s Affairs Deputy Director Nazmunnahar, NDC Nafiul Islam, and Sadar Upazila Secondary Education Officer (in-charge) Md. Abul Hossain spoke as special guests.
Following the opening ceremony, the debate competition commenced with Baikari Kushkhali Union Secondary School and Bakal Secondary School opposing each other on the topic of the government's responsibility in anti-corruption measures.
