A high-level roundtable discussion titled "Development, Prosperity, and Potential of Noakhali" was held today to map out a comprehensive blueprint for the district's overall growth, infrastructural advancement, and future prospects. Participants expressed optimism that the event would play a pivotal role in shaping district-level planning by incorporating insights from diverse professional sectors.

The roundtable, organized by the Noakhali Journalists' Union, took place on Wednesday afternoon at Noakhali Press Club auditorium.

Prof Dr. Golam Rabbani, Vice-Chancellor of Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU), addressed the session as the chief guest. The event was presided over by Noakhali Journalists' Union President Abdul Motaleb Appel and moderated by General Secretary Shahadat Hossain Babu.

Among the key speakers were Noakhali Additional Deputy Commissioner Subrata Das, Noakhali Civil Surgeon Dr. Anwar Hossain, Additional Superintendent of Police (Admin and Finance) Abu Toyob Md. Arif Hossain, former Principal of Noakhali Government College Kazi Rafiq Ullah, District BNP Member Abu Naser, and Adv Robiul Hasan Palash, alongside eminent citizens, senior journalists, and cultural personalities.

During the discussion, speakers emphasized that transitioning Noakhali into a highly prosperous district requires a well-coordinated effort to tackle pressing regional challenges. They called for targeted interventions in infrastructure development, job creation, fostering an investment-friendly environment, and upgrading the local education and healthcare systems, alongside mitigating long-standing communication bottlenecks and river erosion.

Following the discussion, a special prayer and munajat were held in memory of the late statesman President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
