Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) Commissioner Mohammad Fayzul Kabir held a view-exchange meeting with the leaders of the Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Tuesday to ensure a business-friendly environment, enhance security for entrepreneurs, and further improve the law and order situation. The meeting was held at 12:30 PM in the conference room of the RMP Headquarters.

During the discussion, the Police Commissioner inquired whether local entrepreneurs and business owners were facing any law-and-order-related challenges or obstructions while operating their businesses. In response, the Chamber leaders expressed overall satisfaction with the current security environment in Rajshahi metropolis.

However, the business leaders highlighted certain pressing concerns, noting that some unscrupulous individuals and groups have been coercing builders into purchasing low-quality construction materials.

Reassuring the business community, Police Commissioner Mohammad Fayzul Kabir stated that RMP attaches the highest priority to maintaining a safe and stable environment conducive to the expansion of trade and industry in Rajshahi. He urged entrepreneurs and business owners to immediately notify the police if they encounter any security threats.

Addressing the issue of forced material procurement, the Commissioner asserted that citizens have the absolute freedom to purchase construction materials from their preferred vendors. He made it clear that no group or individual would be allowed to exert undue influence or compel anyone to buy from specific suppliers, warning that strict legal measures would be enforced against perpetrators.

Regarding teenage gangs, the RMP chief noted that law enforcement is already taking action against juvenile offenders based on the gravity of their crimes.

The meeting was attended by the President, Vice-President, and other directors of the Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, alongside senior officials of the Rajshahi Metropolitan Police.
