Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapan and State Minister Yasser Khan Chowdhury visited the Press Institute Bangladesh (PIB) on Sunday afternoon.

During the visit, they participated in a preparatory meeting organized to celebrate the golden jubilee (50th anniversary) of PIB. The meeting was chaired by PIB Director General Farooq Wasif.

A preparatory committee was formed to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of PIB in the meeting. During this, detailed discussions were held on the possible programs, arrangements, implementation plans and various activities for the celebration. The Minister and State Minister emphasized the coordinated efforts of all concerned to make the Golden Jubilee celebration meaningful, participatory and successful.

During their visit, they visited the gallery titled Political Biography of Martyr President Ziaur Rahman, the sculpture on the July Uprising and the Research Department of PIB. They also called for further strengthening and expansion of PIB's fact-checking and media research program 'BanglaFact', as well as research, training, study, publication and media development activities.

At that time, researcher and economist Professor Dr. Mahbub Ullah, Chief Information Officer Syed Abdal Ahmed, Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Kamal Uddin Sabuj, Chief Editor and Head of News of Banglavision Abdul I Siddique, MD of Bangladesh Journalists Welfare Trust Bashir Jamal, writer and researcher Dr. Maruf Mallik, along with officials from various levels of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and PIB were present.

The speakers at the meeting emphasized on making all-out preparations to make the Golden Jubilee celebration memorable and significant in continuation of PIB's 50-year glorious journey.
