Regional Labour Office provides Tk 3.8 m assistance to 61 workers in Cumilla

The Regional Labor Office in Comilla has distributed checks for financial assistance from the Bangladesh Workers Welfare Foundation.
The check distribution ceremony was organized at the Comilla Regional Labor Office on Thursday noon. The ceremony was presided over by Mohd. Abul Basar, Deputy Director of the Comilla Regional Labor Office.
Later, he handed over financial assistance checks worth around Tk 3.8 million to 61 workers from various sectors. The donations were given for the treatment of the families of workers injured or killed during construction work, and workers suffering from various complex diseases.
The checks were distributed among workers in Lakshmipur, Chandpur, Feni and Noakhali districts.
Present at the event were Md. Golam Shahid Sarwar, Labor Officer of the Regional Labour Department, Md. Sohrab Hossain, Office Assistant, Nur Alam, General Secretary of the Laxmipur District Branch of the Construction Workers Union (INSAB), and 61 beneficiary workers.
