Allegations of recruitment trading, embezzlement, and financial irregularities have surfaced against the principal, the current and former governing body presidents, and a teacher representative of Kholpatua Mahmudia Alim Madrasa in Bamna upazila of Barguna.

In connection with the incident, Md. Masum Billah, an assistant professor of the madrasah, submitted a written complaint to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and other relevant government departments seeking a fair inquiry.

According to the complaint, Tk 15 lakh in cash alongside 2.5 decimals of land were taken for the appointment of the vice-principal. Additionally, around Tk 5 lakh was allegedly traded for the recruitment of an ayah, while another substantial sum was transacted for appointing a security guard.

The complaint further details the misappropriation of funds collected from student tuition fees and the sale of trees from the madrasah garden, among other income heads.

Calling for administrative intervention, complainant Masum Billah stated that a neutral probe into these irregularities is imperative to restore transparency and maintain an proper educational environment in the institution.

Maulana Abu Zafar, refuted the allegations, claiming that no bribery took place and that all appointments were executed strictly following official regulations.

Concurrently, current Governing Body President Md. A. Jalil Akand stated that he was not in charge during the mentioned recruitments and that no hiring took place during his tenure. He also denied any awareness regarding the financial embezzlement.

Former President Abu Saleh Nantu similarly rejected the accusations, challenging the complainant to present concrete evidence supporting the claims.

Local residents and conscious citizens have urged higher authorities to launch an impartial investigation to uncover the truth and take stern legal action against those responsible.
