Proper dengue treatment ensured at every upazila hospital: State Minister Dr  Muhit

Sirajganj Correspondent

Proper medical treatment for dengue patients has been ensured at every upazila health complex across the country, State Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr. M A Muhit announced on Friday.

He made the statements as chief guest during an exchange-of-views meeting at the Shahjadpur Upazila Health Complex in Sirajganj.

Addressing the gathering, State Minister Dr. M A Muhit stated that the government is actively working to restore public trust in government healthcare services. As part of advance preparations against dengue, 2,000 physicians across Bangladesh received specialized training over the past month. He urged citizens to maintain environmental hygiene and eliminate breeding grounds around their homesteads.

Highlighting concerns over non-communicable diseases, Dr. Muhit noted that over 72 percent of deaths in the country stem from non-communicable conditions, with cardiovascular diseases and strokes accounting for a significant share.

He called upon doctors to treat patients with empathy and clear communication, emphasizing that humane conduct and compassionate care reduce misunderstandings and strengthen the doctor-patient relationship.

Prior to the meeting, Dr. M A Muhit inaugurated a newly established Breastfeeding Corner at the upazila health complex in the presence of attending physicians, nurses, and hospital administration staff.
