Production target not achieved this year : Narsingdi 'Latkon ' farmers disappointed

Due to unfavourable weather conditions, the desired production of testy fruit 'Lotkon 'has not achieved n Narsingdi district this season.
 
As a result, there has been disappointment among the latkon farmers here. 
 
The famous Narsingdi pendants were exported abroad even after meeting the domestic demand. 
 
Although the price of lotkon  is higher this year compared to other years, the production costs of  farmers will not increase. 
 
The farmers of Latkon are currently in a state of confusion. Many farmers are now in despair.
Last year, there was a bumper harvest of latkan here too. The prices were good, so the latkan farmers were happy.
 
There was a glimmer of laughter, but this year it was the opposite. The farmers were delighted to see the yield of the lotus.

produced pendants were exported to various countries of the world, including the Middle East, to meet the country's demand.

Its cultivation is increasing every year as it is financially profitable. In addition, the people here cultivate latkon.
 
The fate of hundreds of farmers has changed.
According to the Narsingdi District Agricultural Extension Department, this season, Narsingdi
Latkan has been cultivated on 1,900 hectares of land in the district, which is about 300% more than last year.
 
Out of  the 6 upazilas of Narsingdi district, Latkon is located in Shibpur, Belab and Raipura upazilas.
Cultivation is increasing. 
 
Md. Mojibur Rahman of Noukaghata village said that this year he cultivated latkan on 5 bighas of land but  due to unfavorable weather conditions, his taget was not fulfilled. 
 
Amrit Chandra Master, a latkan farmer from Patuli village, said that this year he is cultivating latkan on 10 bighas of land.
Cultivated. The harvest was not that good. However, the yield is good this year, although the price of lentil is higher than last year.
Since it is not, it will not be able to provide much benefit. 
 
Narsingdi District Agricultural Extension Department Deputy  Director Md. Azizur Rahman said that the target for the production of latkon was set  30 thousand metric tons but due to unfavorable weather conditions, the production target was not achieved.
