Cumilla’s Brahmanpara East has been accused of killing fish worth Taka 5 lakh by poisoning the pond due to enmity.

The incident took place in Nagaish Purbapara village of Shasidal Union of Upazila on Monday night. Md. Mojibur Rahman, son of the Haji Ali Ahmad of the house of Ayesh Munsi, the owner of the pond, Nagaish Purbapara, filed a complaint in the Brahmanpara police station accusing 10 people as the plaintiff. Following the complaint at the police station, investigating officer SI Shishir Ghosh visited the spot along with Sangia Force.

In this regard, the owner of the pond, Mojibur Rahman, said that we are led by Md. Idris Mia, son of Abdur Rahman, son of Abdul Mannan, Md. Jahangir Alam, son of Alamin, son of Abul Hashem, Md. Rabiul Islam, son of deceased Abdur Rahman, Siddiqur Rahman, son of Abdur Rahman, son of Abdul Wadud. Kamrul Islam, son of late Dudu Mia Md. Faiz Mia and Billal Hossain, Shah Md. Sabbir Hossain, son of Alam, Al Amin, son of late Hossain Mia, along with 4-5 unknown persons attacked my reputed residential house and poisoned the fish in my pond at night time on the east side of the houseL

58% land leased for 30 years in ex No. 1162, 1163 & 1165 and present Dag No. 2338 from Shri Nantuchandra Das, son of Nishikanta Shukla Das, who died in 2001. After a few years in 2011, I purchased 42nd century land from Nantuchandra Das. And the rest of the 16th century premises I deed for my lease. Then in 2011 I dug a pond in the 110th century area.

For 14 years, I have been occupying the pond by planting different species of fish and trees around the pond. Due to the previous enmity, all the above people, led by Md. Idris Mia, along with Md. Jahangir Alam, along with unknown eight-ten people, have made various attempts to occupy my place and property. They are harassing me by attacking me with lawsuits. On the day and night of the incident, my pond was poisoned without the knowledge of everyone, causing a loss of about 2 lakh rupees worth of my twenty fish.

Besides, they tried to occupy my land illegally and tried to plant rice. Presently this place I got Section 145 in Cumilla learned court.
