A press conference was held in Sirajdikhan, Munshiganj, amid allegations of a conspiracy to frame Md. Sumon Bhuiyan, son of Abdur Rob Bhuiyan from Kayin Union of the upazila at  Sirajdikhan Press Club hall  at 11 a.m on Saturday. 

During the press conference, Md. Sumon Bhuiyan stated, "A conspiracy and false propaganda are being spread against me. The procession that locals organized against me was completely baseless. Various individuals are spreading this propaganda to isolate me socially and politically."

In response, Yusuf Bhuiyan, former general secretary of Kayin Union BNP and former president of Jagrani Sangsad, accused Sumon of attempting to establish a reign of terror in the area. He claimed, "Sumon burned his first wife to death with petrol. Additionally, he raped a woman and fled the country in connection with that case. Due to these activities, he was expelled from his position as co-organizing secretary of Chhatra Dal. After returning to the country post-August 5, he began threatening people and occupying various places to gain dominance in the area. On Friday, when he attempted to unilaterally announce a mosque committee, locals resisted fiercely. This led to a protest march demanding the trial of this alleged rapist. Today, he held a press conference to falsely frame us based on that march. We demand the trial of this rapist."

Prince Nadeem, Joint Convener of Munshiganj District Jubo Dal, added, "Sumon Bhuiyan is attempting to take control of various social organizations, including the mosque in the area. Because the local community is united, he has repeatedly failed. Now, he has held a press conference to target us. I urge the administration to conduct a thorough investigation and take appropriate action."
