
Seven shops set on fire in Manda

The affected traders have claimed that the goods were burnt at seven shops valued at Tk 30 lakh at Jot Bazar intersection in Manda upazila of Naogaon.
According to Manda Fire Service sources, the fire broke out from Jamal Uddin's sweet shop in the market around 1:30 pm on Monday (May 5).
At that moment, the shops were spread in the adjoining shops. Upon receiving the news, a unit of the station in the fire service brought the fire under control for about two hours with the help of locals.
The owners of the seven shops are Abdul Rashid, Abdul Khalek, Jamal Hossain, Chandan Kumar Pal, Zaidur Rahman, Maklesur Rahman Anju and Altaf Hossain Rafi.
The affected businessman Abdur Rashid said, went to the shop after receiving the news at night. But nothing could be protected. At least five lakhs of goods were burned. 'Local resident Abdus Salam said, “Jamal's sweet shop is often done till deep night. Work was done last night till 11:00 pm. Then everyone closed the shop and left. It is believed that the fire originated from the oven. '
