The victim's family has held a press conference on allegations that Deepak Barua, an Awami League associate in the murder case of Emon Barua of Manjoy Para in Ghumdhum Union of Naikshongchhari Upazila of Bandarban, and his family members are trying to get rid of the murder case by defaming the name of BNP. The press conference was held at the Bandarban Press Club Conference Room on Monday morning.

At the press conference, Putul Rani Barua, sister of the deceased Emon Barua, said that in 1989, my father was also killed in a planned manner due to a land dispute. Similarly, in 2019, Emon Barua was brutally killed in Manjoy Para in Ghumdhum Union by Deepak Barua, an Awami League associate of Ghumdhum Union, and his relatives.

In the case filed in this incident, 12 witnesses have given clear testimony about the brutal murder of the victim by hacking him to death. But at the end of the case, the accused have started lobbying to have the murder case dismissed as a political case. Basically, the main accused in the murder case, Deepak Baroya, has been a leader of the fascist Awami League for a long time, but is currently trying to get himself released from the case shamelessly by resorting to lies. He also said that the accused are currently intimidating us in various ways. If the accused are somehow released from the case, the accused will kill us too. Therefore, the victim's family demanded that the accused be punished through a fair trial.

At this time, the victim's family presented various documentary films about the Awami League's involvement with Deepak Baroya and expressed fear that if the accused are released, their entire family may be killed.
