Prayer, sweet distribution in Sandwip celebrating BNP’s absolute majority

A prayer gathering and sweet distribution program was held in Sandwip to celebrate the BNP absolute majority victory in the 13th National Parliamentary Election and the landslide win of MP Mostafa Kamal Pasha in Sandwip.
The program was organized under the initiative of Sheikh Hossain’s community and arranged by Azmat Ali Bahadur, Senior Joint Convener of Sandwip Upazila BNP.
The event took place at the office of Sheikh Hossain’s community near the 10-bed Hospital Mor in Ward No. 3 of Sandwip Municipality. Prior to the prayer session, a brief discussion meeting was held.
Among those who spoke at the event were Azmat Ali Bahadur, Senior Joint Convener of Upazila BNP; former prominent student leader Fakhrul Islam; Zahid Kamal; Air Bangla Anwar; and S. M. Mahbubul Alam Shimul, among others. Around two hundred leaders and activists from BNP, Jubo Dal, Chhatra Dal, and Krishak Dal were present.
The speakers said, “The people’s mandate is the ultimate strength of democracy. The people of the country have shown their trust in BNP by granting it an absolute majority. This victory does not belong to any individual or party; it is a victory of democracy and the people.”
They also mentioned that the valuable votes of the Sanatani (Hindu) community played an important role in this victory. To fulfill the expectations of the Sanatani community and the entire people of Sandwip, they emphasized the need to work collectively to build a society free from terrorism and extortion. Only then, they said, can the true value of the people’s mandate be realized.
The speakers further stressed the importance of maintaining party unity and working together for the development of the area. They highlighted the need to uphold communal harmony and advance development-oriented politics, placing special importance on peace, stability, and mutual respect.
After the discussion, a special prayer and munajat were offered for the welfare of the country and the nation. Prayers were also offered for the eternal peace of the late former Prime Minister and party chief, Begum Khaleda Zia. Later, sweets were distributed among nearly two hundred attendees from different walks of life.
