Police have recovered the body of a Hindu man in Kapasia, Gazipur.

The deceased has been identified as Anil Chandra Sutradhar (62), son of Rabindra Sutradhar of Karihata village in the upazila. He lived in Deona shelter home in Rayed union of the upazila and worked as a craftsman in a sweet shop.

The tragic death occurred at around 6 am today, Friday, in Deona village of Targaon union of Kapasia upazila of the district.

Officer-in-Charge OC Kamal Hossain of Kapasia police station confirmed the death.

The deceased's wife, Shilarani Sutradhar, said, "My husband left his house for a walk around 5:30 am on Friday. After some time, people came to offer prayers at the "Abbasia Bari Mosque" and saw my husband lying dead on the road.

The deceased's daughter Rachana said, "My father was fine yesterday too. I hear that he fell on the road while walking this morning. His father died in this incident. Later, local people informed the police station.

Local UP member Amjad Hossain said, "I have reached the spot. I am talking to the family. How he died is not yet known.

The police have started a primary investigation into the incident. The family members of the deceased said that he was not missing or had any dispute with anyone.

Kapasia Police Station OC Kamal Hossain said, "We are investigating the incident. He said that he lived in a shelter center. His wife told him that he was on medication, but he could not say what medicine he was taking.

We will have to wait for the autopsy report to confirm this death.

The incident has created a sensation among the locals. The police are continuing the investigation to collect more information.
