Police arrested 272 BNP’s leader within 25 days in Rajshahi

BNP leaders and supporter are not involved in the incidents of setting fire to vehicles and bomb attacks on police vehicles. Mizanur Rahman Minu demanded to stop the police arrest operation and withdraw the cases filed against the activists and cooperate in the peaceful movement.
A press conference was held at the party office of Malopara at 11 am on Saturday. This program jointly organized metropolitan and district BNP. At that time BNP Central Committee Forest Environment Secretary and former City Mayor Mosaddek Hossain Bulbul, City BNP Convener Bir Muktijodha Advocate Ershad Ali Isha, District BNP Member Secretary Shwinath Sarkar were present at the press conference. In addition, six pro-BNP lawyers were present at the press conference.
In a written speech at the press conference, he said that in the last 25 days, out of 12 police stations of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police, 10 police stations have filed 29 cases against BNP leaders and activists. 554 people were arrested in that case. Also, 718 people were arrested in 11 cases in 8 police stations of district.
Stating that the police have become the adversary of the people, this central leader of BNP complained that the police are raiding the houses of party leaders every night. Family members are being tortured if they are not found at home. The police even tried to abduct the wife of some BNP leader.
