
Pneumonia in children increases again in Bhola

Children's pneumonia has spread again in Bhola. Seven hospitals in the district are now under pressure of child patients. Doctors and nurses are struggling to treat patients due to increased pressure in hospitals.
In the last one week, more than two hundred patients were admitted in the district, but 110 children were affected with pneumonia. On the other hand, due to shortage of beds, an average of 2-3 patients have to be crammed in a bed for treatment.
Parents are worried about the children. However, doctors say that pneumonia in children has increased due to climate change. It has been reported that after the intense heat, continuous rain has poured over Bhola in the island district for the last one week. This has increased the prevalence of various diseases including fever, cold, cough, respiratory distress and pneumonia in children. Most of the hospitalized patients have pneumonia.
Who have been admitted to various hospitals including Bhola Hospital. But due to the increasing pressure of patients in hospitals, multiple patients are being treated in one bed.
Patients have to suffer. Jannatul, the mother of a child suffering from pneumonia under treatment at the 250-bed general hospital in Bhola said, I am in the hospital with a three-month-old child. The child has pneumonia for the past two days. Three patients are suffering while crammed into our beds, yet forced to seek treatment.
Another parent, Sheila Akhter, said, "Suddenly, children's pneumonia has increased, we are worried about our children." Visiting the children's ward of the hospital, it was found that the pressure of children's patients is high. Parents are sitting with children.
On the one hand it is hot and on the other hand they are not able to handle the situation as 2-3 patients are treated in a bed on an average. However, keeping in mind the child's treatment, he is taking treatment with difficulty. Some parents said, we are worried about the children, they have to be treated again in a pile up condition. However, doctors and nurses are providing proper medical care.
According to the information of the children's ward, 182 children were treated at the 250-bed general hospital in Bhola from July 20-27 of this month. 79 of them had pneumonia.
Eight new patients with pneumonia have been admitted in the last 24 hours. Currently 54 people are under treatment. Most of whom have pneumonia.
The nurses in charge of the children's ward said that most of those who are coming for treatment are suffering from pneumonia. As a result, we are struggling to provide treatment. Meanwhile, not only Bhola Sadar Hospital, seven hospitals in the district seem to have the same picture.
Parents are worried because of the sudden increase in the incidence of pneumonia in children. In this situation, doctors and nurses are struggling to treat patients.

We are serving them. There is no drug shortage in the hospital. However, due to the shortage of doctors and nurses, medical services are being disrupted. But we are giving treatment as best we can. Climate change may be the reason for the current high incidence of pneumonia.
According to the district civil surgeon's office, 385 children have contracted pneumonia in the district in the last one month, out of which four have died.
110 children have been affected in the last one week. In the last eight months, the number of which has reached 5 thousand 380 people. Among whom 17 children died.
