BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tareque Rahman is visiting Barisal for the first time after the national elections.

During this visit on July 13, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will visit the temporary camp of the army in Gourandi's Kasba. Besides, he will participate in the tree plantation program and organizational meeting in the divisional city of Barisal.

BNP central co-organizing secretary and Barishal Zilla Parishad administrator Akon Quddusur Rahman confirmed this information on Wednesday afternoon.

Akon Quddusur Rahman said, Tarique Rahman will leave Dhaka at 9 am on July 13. He will come to Barishal Nagar after visiting the summer exercise at the army's temporary camp at Kasba in Gournadi.

Coming to Barishal, he will participate in tree plantation programme. The program is likely to be held around Bells Park, Lake or Grand Park.

Akon Quddusur Rahman said, he will hold an organizational meeting with the leaders of Barishal Nagar, District South and North BNP and organizations at Barishal Shilpakala Academy. He said, they are preparing to conduct the organizational meeting in an orderly manner.

In this regard, BNP Central Organizing Secretary and City Corporation Administrator Bilkis Akhter Jahan Shireen said, after visiting the army camp in Gournadi, Tarique Rahman will speak to the district and metropolitan workers in the staff meeting in the afternoon.

She said, the meeting is being held indoors in Shilpakala due to rain.

Apart from this, Tarique Rahman will plant a sabling.

Bilkis Akhter Jahan Shireen said about the expectations of Barisal residents, ``The Prime Minister knows about the demands of 6-lane road, rail line, Barishal Bhola Bridge, gas supply, EPZ in Barishal. However, these expectations of the people of Barishal will be brought up as per the opportunity.
