Md Mujibur Rahman Patwary

Senior Assistant Secretary Jaber Md. Shoeb, a highly regarded civil servant hailing from Chandpur, has been appointed as the new Additional District Commissioner (ADC) of Dhaka District Administration recently.

A member of the 34th batch of the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) Administration Cadre, Shoeb was previously serving with distinction as the Senior Assistant Secretary in the Service Branch of the Secondary and Higher Education Division under the Ministry of Education.

Born into a respected family in Oorpur village of No. 4 Kalcho Dakshin Union under Hajiganj Upazila in Chandpur, Shoeb completed his Secondary School Certificate (SSC) from Rampur High School and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) from Hajiganj Model College. He subsequently pursued his higher education at Dhaka University, where he successfully completed his graduation and post-graduation degrees.

Since joining the BCS administration cadre, Shoeb has held several key administrative positions across various parts of the country, earning a reputation for his field-level expertise.

Prior to his secretariat posting at the Ministry of Education, he served as the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Alikadam Upazila in Bandarban and as the Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Birol Upazila in Dinajpur.

He also served as an Assistant Commissioner at the Netrokona Deputy Commissioner's Office, the Khulna Deputy Commissioner’s Office, and the Khulna Divisional Commissioner’s Office.

Known among his colleagues and the public as an efficient, honest, and dedicated officer, Shoeb's appointment to the capital’s district administration has been warmly welcomed.

Stakeholders and local residents have expressed high optimism that he will continue to demonstrate his characteristic competence and integrity in his new role as the Additional District Commissioner, ensuring transparent and people-centric public services.
