The fortnight-long Tree Plantation Campaign and Tree Fair 2026 concluded in Faridpur on Tuesday (August 11), with 'Parul Agro Nursery' clinching first prize and a commemorative crest for its outstanding display and community services.

Organized under the slogan "Brikkharopone Sajai Desh, Sobar Age Bangladesh" (Decorate the country with tree plantation, Bangladesh first), the fair was held as part of the nationwide 25-crore tree plantation initiative announced by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

Faridpur Deputy Commissioner Mazharul Islam handed over the crest and honorarium to Parul Agro Nursery during the formal closing ceremony organized jointly by the Faridpur District Administration and the Social Forest Department on Tuesday.

Earlier, Chowdhury Nayab Yusuf, Member of Parliament for the Faridpur-3 constituency, inaugurated the fair in front of the Faridpur Civil Surgeon's Office.

Parul Agro Nursery stood out among participating stalls by showcasing an extensive collection of native and exotic flowers, fruits, indoor plants, medicinal flora, and endangered plant species. Throughout the fortnight, the nursery also provided free consultation services to visiting plant enthusiasts regarding tree planting and care, alongside supplying natural organic fertilizers and specialized soil mixtures.

Stall owners noted that while formal ceremonies concluded on Tuesday, sales will remain open at the fairgrounds for two additional days. Afterwards, Parul Agro Nursery's plants and advisory services will continue at its main center located in Gajaria Bazar under Faridpur Sadar Upazila.
