Robbery at expatriate's house : Gold ornaments, cash looted in Dohar

A daring robbery took place at the residence of Qatar expatriate Sheikh Babul in Dohar Upazila under Dhaka district in the early hours of Wednesday.
The incident occurred around 2:30 am in Ward No. 8 under Dohar Municipality.
According to Fuyara Begum, 30, wife of expatriate Sheikh Babul, a robber initially gained entry into their brick building by cutting open a window grill. The intruder then unlocked the main entrance to let in the rest of the gang, who were masked and armed with local weapons.
The robbers held Fuyara Begum and her son Farhan at gunpoint, ransacked the wardrobes, and looted Tk 1.5 lakh in cash along with approximately 15 bhoris of gold ornaments. Before fleeing the scene, the gang tied up the mother and son and locked them inside a room.
Hearing their screams after the robbers left, neighboring residents rushed to the house and rescued them.
Upon receiving the news, a patrol team from Dohar Police Station arrived at the spot at dawn.
Confirming the incident, Dohar Police Station OC Md. Abu Bakar Siddique stated that police drives are underway to identify the culprits and recover the looted valuables.
