Police have arrested a fraudster named Salim Shikder alias Zihir (52) along with two boundary pillars allegedly worth crores of rupees in Morelganj district. He was arrested from Bishkhali village of Bangram Union of Morelganj at around 9 pm on Thursday.

Salim Shikder alias Jihir (52) Kachua was arrestedSon of Hanif Shikdar of Gopalpur village of the upazila. Morelganj police station officer-in-charge (OC) Saidur Rahman confirmed the arrest of the impostor along with two boundary pillars.

The said two pillars were covered with straw in a garden house of Salim Shikdar in Bishkhali village. A local youth handed over Salim to the police along with two pillars for showing a pillar to a party in Chittagong.

Two of the pillars are written YeastIndia Company 1818. The weight of each pillar is about 20 kg. About the pillar, arrested Salim said that the pillar is made by hand with cement and sand. In fact, there is no such thing as a pillar worth billions of rupees.

It took 10 days and 6 thousand rupees to make these two pillars. If I could manage a party, I would sell it for 10 lakhs. That's how it was going. Salim also said that five people from Morelganj and Kachua upazilas are doing this business togetherSaid arrested Salim. Morelganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Saidur said that Salim Shikder was arrested with two pillar-like objects based on secret information.

A case has been filed against four people in this incident. The OC also said that there are five cases against Salim Shikder on various charges including fraud and theft in Dhaka's Banani, Bagerhat's Kachua and Morelganj police stations.
