National Parliament Chief Whip Nurul Islam Moni announced on Wednesday that the government is removing all provisions to whiten black money in the upcoming national budget for the fiscal year 2026-2027. He disclosed this information during an official press briefing held this evening at the National Parliament Building.
The Chief Whip emphasized that the proposed national budget is being carefully structured around a core objective to ensure the safety, security, and socio-economic protection of the country's impoverished demographic.
Highlighting the structural performance and milestone achievements of the government's first 180 days in office, the Chief Whip noted that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has officially declared a strict "zero tolerance" policy against institutional corruption during the ongoing budget session.
. Nurul Islam Moni further stated that the administration has formulated a comprehensive plan to distribute subsidized "Family Cards" nationwide within the upcoming fiscal year to ease the burden on lower-income households.
Looking at long-term sustainable development, the government has set a definitive target to excavate and re-excavate over 20,000 kilometers of canals and plant 250 million trees across the country over the next five years to boost agricultural irrigation and preserve environmental balance.
