Dr. Ershad Hossain Rana Elected President of France-Bangladesh Chamber

The France-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIFB) has announced its new Executive Committee for the 2026–2028 term, aiming to further strengthen bilateral trade, investment and economic cooperation between France and Bangladesh.

Dr. Md. Ershad Hossain Rana, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Don Group, has been elected President of the Chamber.

The announcement was made following the Chamber's Annual General Meeting (AGM), held last Thursday at The Beast, Level 26, Crowne Plaza Dhaka, Gulshan-2. The newly elected committee formally assumed office through an official board handover ceremony.

Mohammad Jahangir Alam Sarker, CPA, Managing Director and CEO of Three I Logistics Group, and M. A. Riaz, Business Development Director of Expo Holdings (BD) Limited, were elected as Vice Presidents. Farzana Chowdhury, Managing Director of Abista FS Limited, will serve as Treasurer.

The 17-member Board of Directors comprises prominent business leaders from a wide range of industries, including representatives from ABN Group, Akhtar Group, Bangladesh Exports Limited, Bangladesh General Insurance Company Limited, Bengal Airlift Limited, Elite Security Services Limited, Fariha Knit Tex Limited, Novo Cargo Services Limited, Pacific Design & Sourcing, Radiant Corporation, Tasho Enterprise Limited, Uni-Global Business Limited and Utah Knitting & Dyeing Limited.

The newly elected Executive Committee said its priorities include strengthening bilateral economic relations between Bangladesh and France, expanding trade and investment opportunities, promoting business-to-business (B2B) collaboration, and advocating for a more investment-friendly business environment.

The committee also pledged to enhance member engagement, strengthen sector-specific working groups, and create greater value for members and stakeholders through knowledge-sharing initiatives and strategic partnerships.

CCIFB said that under its new leadership, the Chamber will continue to serve as an effective platform for dialogue among businesses, policymakers, investors and development partners, while supporting initiatives to further deepen trade relations and promote sustainable economic growth between France and Bangladesh.

The event concluded with a networking luncheon attended by Chamber members, business leaders, diplomats and distinguished guests.
