Natore DC Shamim Ahmed inaugurates Ekushey Book Fair in Rajapur

A six-day book fair was inaugurated at Rajapur's Muladuli ground on Friday afternoon on the occasion of International Mother Language Day.
Natore Deputy Commissioner Shamim Ahmed inaugurated the book fair organized by Rajapur Ekushe Library.
Ishradi Upazila Nirbahi Officer Imrul Kayes, Baraigram Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mosa Mariam Khatun, UP Chairman Abdul Khalek, President of Ishradi Upazila Press Club and Rajshahi Divisional Organizing Secretary of National Journalist Society Tauhid Akter Panna were present as special guests.
Adv . Hedayet-ul Haque, Vice President of Upazila Press Club, AA Azad Hannan, General Secretary of Ishradi Upazila Press Club were present.
UP Chairman and President of the Fair Implementation Committee spoke under the chairmanship of heroic freedom fighter Abu Bakkar Siddique, Farooq Hossain, Rafiqul Islam, Khorshed Alam, Abdus Salam and Abdul Matin and others. Books and souvenirs were gifted to the chief guest along with other guests.
This book fair is being held in a rural area outside the capital Dhaka, there are about 50 stalls, blood donation program, raffle draw and open stage of the fair grounds where eminent people from different regions hold enlightening discussions, cultural programs, poetry readings, debate competitions and dance performances every day.
The fair ground was crowded with thousands of spectators in the opening ceremony of the first day with dazzling colorful lights on the ground. On the very first day, Swapna Computer book stall was crowded with book lovers and sales.
