MP Emran Ahmad Chowdhury visits grave of martyr journalist ATM Turab

Emran Ahmad Chowdhury, Member of Parliament for the Sylhet-6 constituency, visited the grave of martyr journalist ATM Turab on Sunday noon.
He offered prayers at Turab's final resting place located in the Fatehpur graveyard within the municipal area. Following the visit to the gravesite, the MP attended a prayer ceremony held at Turab’s family home.
Expressing deep condolences to the bereaved family, MP Emran Ahmad Chowdhury stated, "Justice for the murder of ATM Turab will be ensured. Those involved in this killing will not be spared under any circumstances."
During the event, Turab’s elder brother lamented that there has been no fair resolution to the murder case in the two years since his death. He made a heartfelt appeal, saying, "I hope my 98-year-old mother lives to see the rightful justice for her son before she passes away."
The visit was attended by representatives from the district and upazila BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, officials from the Biyanibazar Press Club, and journalists from various levels in Sylhet. Attendees expressed intense anger over the unsolved murder and issued a strong demand for the perpetrators to be identified and brought to justice as quickly as possible.
ATM Turab was martyred on July 19, 2024, after being shot by police while performing his professional duties.
