Movement to on until toppling of ‘occupant govt’: Mirza Abbas
Staff Correspondent
Strongly criticising the government for the steep rise in the prices of daily essentials, BNP Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas has warned that they would continue their movement until the Awami League government is toppled.
Mirza Abbas came up with the warning while addressing a programme held in Dhaka on Saturday protesting the abnormal price hike of the daily essentials.
The prices of commodities are rising, and it will continue to rise due to the mismanagement of the government, Abbas said adding, “We took to the street only to convey a message to the countrymen that there will be no respite until topple of the occupant government.”
Claiming BNP’s movement a nonviolent one, Abbas said, “No democratic movement has ever been unsuccessful and thus the unseating of the fascist Awami League government must be ensured now or later in the face of the movement.”
Recalling the tragic end of Mussolini and Stalin, the BNP leader pointed the finger at the current government and said no fascist ruler could protect their power in the face of the mass movement.
“Awami League government hangs on to power forcibly to plunder people’s money,” Abbas said, calling upon the young generation to build a strong resistance against the government.
