A sensitisation meeting on what to do after the flood was held in Companyganj upazila at the initiative of District Information Office in Sylhet. The meeting was held on Monday at Companyganj Upazila Parishad Hall.

The speakers discussed in detail about health protection and what to do during floods and post-floods.

With Deputy Director of District Information Office Salah Uddin in the chair , Upazila Nirbahi Officer Abida Sultana spoke as the chief guest.

Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Md Kamruzzaman, Upazla secondary Education Officer Badiuzzaman Ahmed and Upazila Social Service Officer. Abu Said Mia addressed the meeting.

In the speech of the chief guest, UNO Abida Sultana said that the people of Companiganj Upazila, which is known as a flood-prone area, are constantly fighting with floods. One or more times a year floods damage the houses and houses in this area.

However, all these damages can be reduced if there is advance preparation for floods and that is the purpose of this organization of the district information office.

The chief guest also urged to reach all the necessary information in disaster along with the advance preparation of flood through this kind of program.

In the president's speech, Deputy Director of the District Information Office. Salah Uddin said that there are three stages of flood, before the flood, during the flood and the third is what to do after the flood. He urged the concerned to pay special attention to avoid loss of life due to flood. He mentioned that this event will be beneficial only if these awareness messages can be reached to the people at the grass root level during the disaster.

Senior Assistant of the District Information Office, representatives of different classes and professions of Companiganj upazila participated in the program and it was moderated by Lebach Uddin.
