The dead body of a hill armed terrorist was recovered from Kitchingchra on the western side of Kattali Bazar in the remote hilly area of Rangamati.

On January 2 (Thursday) in the early hours of the morning, a gun battle took place between the two sides in Kitchingchra area of Kattali in Longadu Sadar Union of the upazila over the dominance of the hill. An armed member of the hill regional armed terrorist organization UPDF (Prasitgroup) was killed in this. Security forces have recovered M4 rifle, 30 rounds of bullets, army uniforms and other items from the spot.

On receiving the information, a team of Bangladesh Army led by Zone Commander Lt Col Himel Miah, PSC and Baghaichhari Circle SP Mahmudul Hasan reached the scene of the incident. Later, the dead body of a member of a mountain armed organization dressed in army uniform was found at the scene along with one amphor (M4) rifle (Chinese type), 30 rounds of bullets, 5 bags, 10 blankets, 10-12 mobile phones (with chargers), two national identity cards and various Kinds of documents are recovered.

Baghaichhari Circle Assistant Superintendent of Police Mahmudul Hasan confirmed the truth of the incident and said that after receiving the information, Longdu Police Station OC Md Ferdous Wahid, OC ( Investigation) Swarjit Debnath, SI Al Mamun went to the spot. With the help of the army, the body dressed in army clothes was found. The identity of the deceased could not be ascertained. The body has been sent to the morgue for post-mortem.

OC of Longadu police station Ferdous Wahid said, we got the news of gun battle in Kattali area of Longadu Sadre Union of upazila around 7 am. Immediately, with the help of the army, we took the police force to the spot and recovered the body of an unidentified mountain armed member wearing army uniform from a place called Kitchingchra. One M4 (M4) rifle (Chinese type), 30 rounds of bullets, 5 bags, 10 blankets, 10-12 mobile phones (with chargers), two national identity cards and various documents were recovered.

It is believed that the outbreak of the incident centered on the dominance of the armed groups in the hills.
