A mass rally was held at the Kurigram Government College Grounds on Saturday afternoon, organized by the Islamic Movement Bangladesh Kurigram District, demanding necessary state reforms, justice for the mass killings, and fair and impartial elections using the proportional representation system.
The chief guest at the event was Senior Nayeb-e-Ameer of the Islamic Movement Bangladesh, Mufti Syed Muhammad Faizul Karim Shaikhe Charmonai.
The chief guest said in his speech that there will be a movement against the occupiers, a movement against the murderers, a movement to establish human rights, God willing. Just as we unitedly drove the fascists out of this country and forced them to divide it, God willing, if we take to the streets again, God willing, there is no doubt that we will be able to overthrow the extortionists.
At this time, Islami Andolan Kurigram District Branch President Alhaj Muhammad Shahjahan Miah presided over the event, with Islami Andolan Bangladesh Presidium Member Professor Ashraf Ali Akon, Kurigram 2 constituency nominated candidate of Islami Andolan Professor Maulana Nurbakt and others present as special guests.
