Madrasa student killed after being run over by bus in Tongibari

A madrasa student named Arabic Islam (08) was killed after being run over by a bus on Betka Road in Tongibari Upazila of Munshiganj. The accident occurred in front of Randhunibari School in Betka Union of the upazila at 12:30 pm on Wednesday.
The madrasa student died on the spot. The deceased student was studying at Betka Adarsh Madrasa. After the incident, an agitated mob set the bus on fire. Upon receiving the information, the fire service personnel came and extinguished the fire. Later, the locals pushed the bus and threw it into a ditch. During this, a massive traffic jam was created on the road. Confirming the truth of the incident, Tongibari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Saiful Alam said that the madrasa student was crushed under a Dhaka-bound SS Paribahan bus. He died on the spot.
The body was recovered after receiving the information. The locals threw the bus that was involved in the accident into a local ditch. Further legal action is under process.
