Madaripur -2 seat : BNP nomination aspirant Helen Jerin Khan exchanges views with journalists

Helen Jerin Khan, Central Assistant Secretary for Education Affairs of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and Senior Joint Secretary General of the Bangladesh Nationalist Women’s Party, former reserved seat MP,  Helen Jerin Khan held a view  exchange meeting with journalists working in Madaripur. 

The meeting was organized at Selim Munshi Community Center at 11:00am on Saturday in Char Muguria, Madaripur district, exchanged views with all print and electronic media journalists of Madaripur. 

Helen Jerin Khan said, “Today, my political journey began through the hands of my father, and to honor the promise made to him, I want to work shoulder to shoulder with you for the development of the Madaripur-2 parliamentary constituency.”

She began her discussion by paying tribute to all martyrs of 1971 and those of 2024 and said, “When I was a member of parliament from the reserved seat, I worked for the development of the district despite many adversities. But this time, I want to be elected as a member of parliament directly by public vote and come to work from among the people.” During the event, she distributed leaflets of BNP’s 31-point outline for reforming the state structure among the journalists.

Madaripur-2 parliamentary constituency includes Madaripur Sadar and Rajoir police stations. Responding to various questions from journalists, BNP leader Helen Jerin Khan answered from her position.

In response to a question from journalist Belal Rizvi, she said, “I do politics selflessly. I don’t believe in grouping. If the party permits me to work with the district BNP, I will do so.” To another question, Helen Jerin Khan said, “BNP believes in multi-party democracy, so we don’t want any party to be banned from elections or politics. However, due to the mass uprising of 2024, one party is currently banned from activities, and I leave that to the current government and the people of the country.”

At that time, journalist Sagar Hossain Tamim said, “In the past, no political leader has organized such an exchange meeting with journalists. This initiative by the BNP leader has turned it into a grand reunion of journalists. We want this continuity to continue.”

The exchange meeting was also attended by BNP Central Executive Committee member Kazi Humayun Kabir, former president of Thana BNP and current joint secretary of the district committee Sohrab Hossain Howlader, former VP of Government Nazim Uddin College Sarwar Hossain, District Krishak Dal Member Secretary Wahiduzzaman Khan Ohid, Matsyajibi Dal's Saim Khan, District Women’s Party General Secretary Munmun Khan, and leaders from various levels of the district, along with nearly all the journalists of the district.
