
Local fish fry released in Kotalipara
Golam Rabbani, Gopalganj
Under the "Native Fish and Snail Conservation and Development Project" for the 2024-25 fiscal year, native fish fry were released into various government and private ponds and open water bodies in Kotalipara, Gopalganj on Saturday.
It was attended by Gopalganj District Fisheries Officer Bijan Kumar Nandi, Assistant Project Director Sheikh Aslam Hossain, and Kotalipara Upazila Senior Fisheries Officer Md. Shahjahan Siraj.
Officials stated that the release of fish fry will play an effective role in conserving native fish species, increasing production, and preserving aquatic biodiversity.
Fisheries officers further noted that this initiative will help revive near-extinct native fish species, encourage local farmers, and establish sustainable fish farming management.
