Leaflet distribution for restoration of Dohar, Nawabganj constituencies

A leaflet distribution programme was held as part of mass awareness for the restoration of Dohar and Nawabganj parliamentary constituencies in Dhaka.

The leaflet distribution was inaugurated from Joypara University College on Friday morning.

At this time, a short rally was held under the chairmanship of the convener of the organization, senior reporter of Ajker Patrika and general secretary of Reporters Forum for Election and Democracy (RFED) Md. Humayun Kabir and moderated by member secretary of the National Citizens Committee Md. Russell. Former Information Technology and Training Editor of Dhaka Reporters Unity and senior reporter of Manabzamin Md. Rashim Mollah, Bangladesh Supreme Court lawyer Advocate Monir Hossain Rana, former GS of Joypara College Fazlul Haque Belayedi, former president of Doha Upazila Chhatra Dal Abdul Awal Akand, former VP of Joypara College Atiqur Rahman Shuem, former student leader Kabir Ahmed, Doha Upazila convener of the People's Rights Council Abdur Jabbar, student representative against discrimination Masudur Rahman Adnan, Md. Billal Hossain, AR Shipon and others spoke.

Advocate Md. Humayun Kabir, Office Secretary of Greater Dhaka District Kazi Masud, Advocate Sumon Mridha, Advocate Monir Hossain, Sumon, Sohag and others were present.

The speakers said that despite being close to Dhaka, Doha Nawabganj was deprived of all kinds of facilities. At one time, Doha Nawabganj was deprived of all kinds of facilities, but in 2008, the two seats were merged to provide facilities to the YML. As a result, the development of Nawabganj in Doha was deprived. It has become our responsibility to restore the two seats to their previous form for the development of Nawabganj in Doha.

At that time, the leaders of the nationalist party BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh, Ganadhikar Parishad, Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, National Citizen Committee, and Anti-Discrimination Student Movement supported the movement to restore the Nawabganj seat in Doha.

At that time, leaflets were distributed at about 20 spots including Joypara, Malikanda, and Latakhola in Doha. The locals assured their full cooperation in the leaflet distribution programme. They welcomed the initiative of such a programme.
