Lalmonirhar Jatiya Party programme disrupted by coordinators, BNP activists

Limon, the General Secretary of Lalmonirhat District Jatiya Party, was driven out of the office by student coordinators and BNP activists. At that time, Lalmonirhat Sadar Police arrested one person. As the party event was disrupted, they closed the office and left.
According to local and police sources, on Sunday, , the General Secretary of Lalmonirhat District Jatiya Party, Limon Sarkar, began event proceedings at the party office. However, when student coordinators and BNP activists learned that several leaders of the banned organization Chhatra League from Lalmonirhat were present at the event, they obstructed the program. Facing their obstruction, the Jatiya Party event was disrupted. When the BNP activists and student coordinators informed the police, law enforcement arrived at the scene and arrested Md. Mehedi Hasan Rubel, the Organizing Secretary of the banned organization Lalmonirhat District Chhatra League.
It is to be noted that on Sunday at around 3:30 PM, a program was suddenly initiated at the District Jatiya Party office. The presence of activists from the banned Chhatra League in the program stirred public discussion and criticism.
OC.of Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station, Md. Nur Nabi said, Md. Mehedi Hasan Rubel, the (former) Organizing Secretary of the banned organization District Chhatra League, is the son of the late Abdur Rashid of Durga Pur village, Aditmari Upazila, Lalmonirhat. The police confirmed on Monday, April 14, 2025, that there are multiple cases filed against this leader of the banned organization.
