Bandarban Correspondent

The Kuki Chin National Front (KNF) has banned transport owners' associations operating in three upazilas in Bandarban for sending vehicles to the ongoing operations of the joint forces.

A notice in this regard was issued from their own Facebook page on Thursday.A notice issued by Kuki Chin National Army (KNA) Commander Lt. Le Pabik to the car association presidents of Ruma Bazar, Rowangchari Bazar and Thanchi Bazar in the district said that the association's vehicles and drivers are in the ongoing gun battle between the Bangladesh Army and the KNF.

It is also said that at this time, Bangladesh Army is taking ordinary innocent people to war and instead of using the army's own vehicles, they are using market association vehicles and association drivers. As a result of which the innocent car driver could have been shot during the war.

The notice also said that the Kuk-Chin National Army conducted the operation competently, causing no harm to the innocent driver. Therefore, an urgent notice was issued from the KNF headquarters to the President of the Bazar Car Association to take a proper decision with special consideration in this matter to save the lives of the car association drivers.

If the drivers of the association try to enter the battle field with the army anywhere during the gun battle at the front, the KNF will not take responsibility for any damage to the driver, but the president of the car association will take responsibility. It is also said that all types of vehicles will be allowed to move in commercial areas, except in KNF restricted areas.

In this regard, General Secretary of Jeep Owners Cooperative Society of Ruma Upazila, Md. Khalilur Rahman said, "Due to the ban, there is fear among the drivers, we will sit in a meeting and decide quickly on this matter, what should be done for the betterment of the drivers."

Meanwhile, after this incident, fear has spread among the drivers of vehicles plying in the three upazilas of the district, because this is the first time that this type of ban has been issued on the drivers of vehicles when there are activities of various armed organizations in Bandarban.

Meanwhile, Pren Kumar Biswas, line man of Jeep-Mahendra Malik Samiti of Thanchi Upazila of the district, said, "We are not aware of this ban by KNF, vehicles were plying in the hilly areas of Thanchi on Thursday as well.
